Welcome to our Participatory Budgeting for Halfway and the CAledonian Circuit page!

We are delighted to announce that, through the Scottish Government's Community Choices Fund, 14 local groups and organisations in the Caledonian Circuit and Overton, Halfway have been awarded funds to deliver 17 community projects over the next year.

A total of £20,000 was available for each area to resource a range of great ideas that will make a positive and visible difference to the Caledonian Circuit and Overton, Halfway. The maximum amount each project could apply for was £3,000. 


The projects had to meet at least one of the priorities identified in the local action plan, be led by or involve the community, and achieve the required levels of support / votes from the local community (online through the community Facebook pages or face-to-face voting).

Awarded: £3,000


Particip8 Overton are updating their outdoor sound system to enhance the entertainment provided at the community events hosted throughout the year for the Overton community. The equipment purchased will also be available for use free of charge by other local groups for their community events.

What was the process?


The application process involved four simple steps: 


Fill out the application form and send in to


Applications will be assessed by an independent panel to confirm they meet the criteria


They will then be posted online with an exciting statement about your project


Finally, you need to promote the facebook post about project so it gets 'liked'. Once it achieves the required number of likes, you will get confirmation of your award!
