Springhall Cage Redevelopment
Redeveloping the Cage to create thriving multi-use spaces where local residents can grow and play
Springhall Community Resource Group, supported by Healthy n Happy, have worked with the community to development proposals to upgrade the Springhall Cage.
In 2018 they were successful in their application for funding from the Our Place initiative to make the proposals a reality!
The plans include:
-
Upgraded sports pitch and fence
-
New interactive football wall
-
New outdoor gym
-
New play area for all ages
-
New natural play and open greenspace
-
New secure growing area and storage unit
They originally undertook a feasibility study with ERZ Landscape Architects and since then South Lanarkshire Council have come on board as a partner and will lead on the construction and management of the site. The aim is to have the works completed by the end of 2019.
The refurbishment of the space will not only see the area physically improve but improve into something that local people have said they wanted and have directly influenced its design and plans.
